hey everyone,i'm back from school holidays! wow, time really flies...B4 u noe it, now it is yr 2007...one year has passed,i have been keeping this blog for more than one year. to think of it, its quite an achivement to have kept my blog for so long. Well, i haven't been blogging regularly all this while. why? its because i dun keep a PC @ home,so it's quite difficult for me to to access internet anytime.

For those of u who are fortunate to have a PC @home,u must be thinking that i am kidding u guys...they must be thinking:we are already in 21st century, almost every household would have possess at least 1 PC,how could u not have a PC? well, these ppl cannot assume every household to be well-off. some families have serious financial problems, they cant even provide for their basic needs, what's more for a computer which is more of a luxury? so to me, computer is like a luxury. anyway,i won't die w/o a PC la...lol...

anyway, i realised that nowadays a lot of ppl(including me) are too much dependent on internet or other IT(info tech). just like what happened 2 weeks ago. Taiwan was having serious earthquake, leading to internet disruption across the whole Asia due to the underground cable being damaged by the earthquake. so the whole of S'pore was affected too. when i went back to school for a project work 2 days after the incident, i see so many students there trying to surf internet yet the internet still crashed on them that they are not able to do research. Well, they could have used other library resources like reference books to do their work. Why be so insistent when the internet service disruption is not over yet? that's why i say ppl are too reliant on modern technology. i think they should be more flexible when met with crisis,do u agree with me?

well,i only get to blog only if i have money to visit the cybercafe or if i am at my school campus. luckily SP have free computer access facilities,or else i will be unable to do any research or projects. therefore i have difficulty to blog regularly. so those who have reading my blog, i would like to apologise to u guys for having to wait for my next entry for so long. Enuf said....

u guys must be wondering what i have been doing during this 3-weeks vacation? well,i couldn't be playing with com since i dun have it at home, rite? actually i was working througout the 3 weeks break. so far i have work in 3 places. they are: Tanglin mall(1 day); Loyang factory ALLS(11 days) and Ramen Tei @ Robinson road (2 days).

ALLS(Aero laundry and linen services) was the 2nd job i work during the break. so far only this job i worked the longest among the 3. this factory was located at loyang(b/w pasir ris and changi)....i started to work there the day after i quit my job at the tanglin mall as the shop tender(who would want to go back to work for that boss again after u've ur bad experience working there? i dun think i would fall for his 18-mth challenge,no matter waht within these 18-mth i wont go back to work for him!)...

this factory was damned far lor and the pay was very low($26/day,considered a cheap labor in s'pore,lol...)...but i only have 3 weeks break, what to do? anyway my older sis and younger bro are working there also...my experience there is like,"Wah,so many ah mah ah gong working there? 不变老才怪(its a wonder if u dun become old like them)" from what i heard, this job is for those who are retirees or retrenched but haven found job one.... i was very sian diao again...not much young ppl there la...even those who look very young are "promoted" to grandmother liao...butbthe aunties there are really nice lor, except christina(my supervisor)...u will noe why later on...

i rmb my line leader auntie mary...she was a very kind and friendly person...she can also speak multiple languages such as english, hindi, mandarin, malay, hakka, cantonese as well as hokkien...wow,although she's a mixed blood(chinese and indian),she's so multiracial lor...another person is that auntie Meow Eng...my impression of her is her catch phrase"la,la,la"(pull)..dunno why everytime talk to her sure got the word 'la' come out from her mouth...and she reminded me of auntie linggam back at jht...her voice very similar to auntie linggam, got very hoarse voice one...tok like slaughter chicken, very cute...

Another person i know is auntie Maureen. just like how her name sounds, she's really boring....she keep telling my bro:"u must read books to widen ur knowledge,so that ur mind will become active"...i know she's a chrisitian, came from same church as me(CHC)..but shouldnt be so boring mah...must be "hip"...and her face ah...i dun want to talk abt it...when u see her badly burnt face u will like dun feel like eating,lol.. ....sorry for any offence...

Finally on my 4th day i met a new friend who's a youth...his name is charles...he is quite easy to get along...but he sometimes quite weird....i nvr met a person like him who will ask u to guess his or her name one....at most just guess the age will do...but we really had fun working together, talk crap when we're bored...waiting to pass time together...really want to thank him for his company all the while....however i still had to wake up 5.15am every morning and take mrt train to bedok mrt station from jurong east mrt everyday to wait for shuttle bus...sianzz..luckily we end work at 4pm,if no OT la...haha..:)

then on 31st dec 06, christina(my supervisor) approached me to work in a jap ramen restaurant for 4 days..it was at robinson rd,at raffles place...hahaha,i was like excited lor cuz it would be my first time working in a restaurant and this place was much closer to my place as compared to ALLS so that i dun have to wake up early in the morning...So she asked me to start work on tuesday (02/01/07).. the working hours is from 8am to 8pm(the actual operation hours is from 11am to 3pm), pay is $45 per day(which is very little as compared to when i worked in JHT)...but nvm,as long as i can enjoy working there and learn new things,i wont mind the hard work and the long working hrs :-)

the owner of that small jap ramen tei restaurant(Jason) is actually quite a nice person.. he is actually the SP alumni for over 10 years. he used to study marine Engineering back in sp. then after he graduated,he joined police force for a few years before setting up an IT company. But he's just too unlucky, his IT company got acquired by another company,so he has nothing in the end until when he had gone to japan for short holidays and found out a new idea there and came back to Singapore to set up this ramen restaurant.

So i asked him why he wanted to set up a ramen tei despite there were many ramen restaurants in singapore such as Ajisen restaurant. then he said the way he produced the ramen is the distinct difference between his and other restaurants. while ajisen used the ramen supplied from the production factories,he made the ramen himself.

No wonder the restaurant only opens for 4 hours, the rest of the time was used for preparation of the ramen and the ingredients. wow, he look so confident abt this food business....furthermore he got this idea from his trip in japan. the restaurant in japan has its own secret recipe to make the egg gluten in order to smoothen the ramen. they dun use sodium bicarbonate in the ingredients. they also used the most updated ramen-making machine to make the dough and to cut the noodle. that is their outstanding selling points.

Well christina asked me to work there as jason's assistant need to go back to indonesia for hari raya haji celebration for a few days,so i'm the assistant noodle maker in that ramen tei. Actually, on my first day there i was sort of nervous coz it was my first time working in a restaurant located in the town area, and it is my first time working with food so quite worried for my personal hygiene. Luckily jason was really quite a nice person he patiently taught me the things i should learn...that day was considered a public holiday so we were preparing the food for the next day's biz and there were only three of us in the shop...at the end of the day i and auntie soh left the shop, leaving jason behind. as i walked to to raffles mrt station together with aunt soh, she told me that christina was actually jason's mother-in-law...oic...i always tot christina knew that malay guy (who went back to indonesia) only...

however my learning experience in men tei was shortlived and the this has instead become my unhappy experience on my second day. in the morning b4 jason has reached the shop, i would do the pre-preparation of the ramen dough for him like weighing the flour and mix the flour as instructed by jason. As i have done my part and was waiting for jason to come, i offered to help the kichen staffs by cutting the coriander stem. however when jason comes to the shop and saw what i was doing, he asked me to stop and help him with his dough making. it was then i realised that i am not cut out to be a kitchen helper. i was not a help at all and instead a hindrance to them...haiz...sian...算了吧。。。

then i saw 3 more staffs(1 guy,2 ladies) coming to the shop...then i realised they worked there as the waiter and waitresses to serve the customers..i tot thsi restaurant was self-serviced one lehx...lol....but i dun really like them as they are so “刀”(snobbish)..when they saw a new comer they should intro themselves and make me feel welcome although i will be there for 4 days mah...even when jason's wife, which is christina's daughter(cant rmb what's her name) intro me to these staffs, the way they say "hello" to me was annoying to me (no sincerity at all), as if i owe them a fortune..haha...

when the shop opens, i was assigned to help in the kitchen. then i got to know this lady called mrs lim..she's a taiwanese and her husband was a singaporean...she's a nice person. she taught me how to heat up the japanese 叉烧(bbq pork)which looks like a spiral in cross-section. i tot it was the normal cha siew (for chinese) we eat everyday...lol...then she also taught me how to do other kitchen stuff like piercing the tamago(jap bruised egg卤蛋) into halves and refill the empty pot with hot soup when i see the empty pot being left on the ground. she also said that when u carry the pot of hot soup to the outside counter, ur back must be facing the outside of the kitchen and must say the "Hot Ah,hot ah!" when u walk backward to warn the ppl outside to prevent the pillage of the soup....so i have learnt how the restaurant communicate with the kitchen during peak hours...

it was then i realised i am really a shy guy when she asked me whether i'm malaysian cuz she said i have a slightly tanned skin. then she explained to me why i looked a malaysian cuz the malaysian are shy in nature...oh my God,really got such phenomenon one ahx?....

after the peak period i went for my break. i went outside to makan cuz i dun like eating salty food like miso ramen, shoyu ramen... i might as well go outside buy myself a more "humane" food...after i came back from my break,it's time i help jason in noodle making as the shop was abt to close.. as i was curious abt making the dough sheet (by flattening the dough several times using the machine),so i asked jason to let me try it out. the first time he was guiding me how to fine tune the doughsheet, but my 死期 starts when i take another dough and try to push it inside the roller w/o jason's permission...becoz i forgot to switch the gear from gear 7(for most flattened use) to gear 1(unflattened use) and compressed the dough,so when i tried to push the dough inside the roller, i saw the dough stucked in the roller and i pressed stop button immediately. i informed jason and instead "kena" scolding by him...

Then he fiercely asked me "did u smell something coming out from the motor?" Oh my God! i'm in serious trouble! can u imagine the fiery expression on jason's face and full of "fucking" words coming out from his mouth? he actually scolded me infront of his customers...he asked me to stay away from that "fucking" machine and just do the weighing of the ramen...i wanted to tell him i'm not going to help him anymore but i still have to tolerate and pretend nothing happened...

towards the end of the day, i helped jason with the packing of the weighed noodle and stored the ramen in the refrigerator overnite for next day's biz...i helped the kitchen staff with washing as the washing lady has left the shop a few hours ago and we had to wash the things ourselves. after i helped to do the housekeeping, i was ready to pick up my belongings and left the shop. just before i left the shop, jason asked me to change into my own clothes and gave him the men tei uniform. he claimed that he provides free laundry services for all staff and he said my uniform was all dirtied with the flour and dough,so must wash it... i bid farewell to jason and other staff (my last day there) and go home. as i was on my way home,i was wondering why jason was so kind to "help" me wash the uniform when i only worn it for just 1 day, i dun think u need to wash ur newly worn uniform after 1 day rite? and i was thinking of telling jason that the next day would be my last day.

when i reached home i received a call from christina abt that day's incident. she asked me what happened that day and told me that jason's machine would cost abt 100,000 dollars(she din say isit jap yen or sing dollars) and yet i nearly damaged the machine. Well, jason was that damned christina's son-in-law so she was informed of this incident soon enuf...正所谓:好事不出门,坏事却传千里...so she told me not to come to work in men tei animore, saying that i was an alien to to this kind of job. Hey i can always learn mah, just tat u all dun give me chance....ok since christina says i'm an alien to this job,why did she recommend me to work there in the 1st place? i bet she's trying to sabo me,since she got sabo my older sis in ALLS by accusing her of theft...she dun like my sis at all,so she must haf extended her hatred to me and my brother...

i suddenly realised why jason asked me for my men tei uniform back. this is his way of firing me. Why dun he tell me directly when i was abt to leave his shop? and somemore he ask his mother-in-law to tell me...so cunning of him....to think i tot of "firing" him the next day,yet they were much faster in doing that....well i would not be so surprised anyway, since i have nearly spoilt their expensive machine causing the motor to emit the fouling smell due to overheating,so i dun jason and christina will trust me anymore. it was christina who recommend me to work there for four days and she say if my next holiday is coming soon i can inform her that i want to go back men tei work. Looks like its damn impossible lor...aniwae,i wld just forget this matter after a few days. i would just take it as my bad luck to have waste my two days to work for him...this is the second time i lost my superior's trust in me ever since the first incident in JHT(motorola) when i was working nite shift back in yr 2004/05.

to make it brief, i accidentally insert the PCB with electronic components facing the stencil plate into the printing machine(used to print the PCB with solder). maybe that time i was quite sleepy as it was around 3am plus,so i wasnt alert enough that i insert the PCB on the wrong side. as a result i heard a jerk sound inside the machine then i realised that i was so careless to have put the pcb on wrong side, causing the components to be partially crushed by the stencil plate. i was damned shocked and worried at the same time.

My former SMT supervisor ah chuan came to know it soon after this happened. so i was summoned by him and 'kena' scolded by him. he said that luckily the machine wasnt damaged but this damaged pcb would cost a lot...i know that he would say like this lor...to protect myself from being 'tekan' by him, i kept quiet throughout.....So do u think i'm a loser? i always give ppl trouble,as well as getting myself in trouble, ppl lost trust in me after one mere incident, why dun they give me chance?...why am i so useless? yet similar incident in men tei had to repeat the history...
:-(

aniwae, these three weeks break wasnt a pleasant break at all...i would rather stay at home studying for exam than to 受人家的气。。。咳。。。i shall continue describing my job at tanglin mall next time...bye-bye!
