yoz...i'm back to blogging...i had a great weekend indeed... My friend, mohaimin, invited me along with his ex-secondary sch(Henderson Sec sch, which is yvonne's sec sch) friends, to go to Pulau Ubin for cycling....At first i was quite excited as i din cycle for very long time liao(ard 8 months liao)...now my fren ask me to come along,of course i feel excited lor..So what happened was after i attended the CHC(city Harvest Church) 10am service @singapore expo hall 8 on sunday morning, i set off to meet my friend who is in pulau ubin already.

i thought the whole journey from expo to pulau ubin was quite short(cuz i tot P.ubin was not very far from expo)...it takes ard 40 minutes altogether(from taking train @expo MRT station to tanah merah station(5min),then take bus no. 2 to changi village bus terminal(25min), then finally take bumboat from changi point jetty to p.ubin jetty)..do u know tat taking the bumboat to p.ubin cost $2 for just one trip!!! i tot it would be very cheap leh(last time i think it costs only $1)....

anyway, forget it...so when i reach there i feel quite great. Pulau ubin was indeed a very peaceful place. However, as i used to living in a comfortable city,so if u ask me to stay overnite there i wld definitely say NO!!! Compared to singapore island, i can say that the ppl there is very friendly...i remember when i want to rent a bicycle in one rental shop, there is one auntie who come to my svc, and offers to recommend a good bicycle for me. She even let me try the bike. In east coast park(Singapore island), no such thing happened and u have to choose your own bike...so this auntie was very nice lor,she says i can rent the bike for whole day until 6pm for just $6, and if i can't return the bike in time she won't charge me additional fee,as she can understand p.ubin the island quite big...So different from Singapore rite?

Actually this is my first time cycling in an unfamiliar place,so when i try the bike i felt quite uncomfortable as the road there was very crowdy.. somemore u have to cycle carefully as u may not know when a vehicle is coming towards u..Well, i am surprised when i see quite a no. of wild dogs roaming in the street as i cycle. Actually i am quite afraid of dogs,so when i cycle i must not disturb them in anyway or else they may chase me(who will outrun who, u think?). Anyway, the year 2006 is the year of Dog, so i should consider myself "lucky" to have encountered so many wild dogs in p.ubin..haha...

Finally i met up with mohaimin and his sec sch frenz. So we cycle ard this small island for ard one and the half hours. I got to know his frens better as we cycle together. all his friends are good cyclers, i felt very inferior, but the time when we had to cycle up the slope, i got big problem, so one of his friends was very kind to wait for me when i was trying to push my bike, before we continue... then when i cycle to the place where the slope there was very steep, i have the tendency to slow down and makes my cycling difficult as the gear seems to be faulty...

i try to push my bike but suddenly i felt dizzy so i push my bike slowly to the nearest hut to rest for a while...after a while i felt better so i continue to cycle, then i met mohaimin and his fren..they all ask me wat happened to me?but i din actaully tell them the truth as i wld feel very embarrassed if i tell them(as u noe, all of them are guys, i dun want them to think that i very weak,i bought 2 bottle sof mineral water leh)...

Around 3.30pm, we cycle to a place where there is a Thai buddhist temple. One of the guys jokingly says dun ever make wishes at tt thai temple cos if ur wishes came true, u have to come back again and gave thanks,or else u will have bad luck forever...then as we want to continue, one particular guy's bike 'pun check'(bike got flat tyre). So one of the guys,a Chinese guy, i think, suggests asking the ppl from that temple for help, so we wait for him lor... As we wait, oh my God! I was actually got stung by the irritating mosquito there and got a lot of blood oozing out of my fleshy arm, eeee! sucks, man! that's one thing i dun like abt p.ubin...but other things ok lor...

Finally, we got no choice but to make a U-turn and cycle back to the jetty as this is the only short-cut or else we have to cycle a big round at Outward Bound school before we reach the jetty...Too bad that day was rainy, when we cycle back, the rain starts to rain heavily, so we had to cycle even faster. One thing is that we can enjoy the ride when the bicycle is going down the slope, previously we had to push our bikes up the slope....Shiok!

At 4pm we reached the jetty. We returned our bikes to the rental shop and and we go to the jetty and wait for the bumboat to come and fetch us back to Changi point ferry terminal... i regretted that i din cycle the whole island (i was only there for abt 2 and the half hours) and i din take some pictures of the things i saw such as the wild dogs and some places we went( the thai temple, the huts, etc). Anyway P.Ubin is a very beautiful place,so u may want to visit this small island when u are free...

I shall blog until here...Have a pleasing and fulfillling Chinese New Year! God Bless...
